01 / Scanned statements

When your statement is a picture, the first step is reading it.

A scanned PDF may contain images rather than selectable text. StatementFlip can use OCR to read those pages, then structure the extracted transactions for review and export.

Source → review → export

02 / Explore the example

A statement you can actually work with.

Explore the same example as a spreadsheet or CSV. The numbers are fictional; your own results depend on the source PDF and should be checked.

03 / Your workflow

A better starting point for your work.

01

Give the scan a fair chance

Use a sharp, upright scan with complete page edges. Blur, shadows, handwriting and heavy compression can make dates and amounts harder to read.

02

Check the small details

Pay particular attention to decimal points, minus signs and similar-looking digits. Compare totals and balances with the original page.

03

Try a short document first

Test a small scanned PDF before processing a larger archive. If the result is unclear, obtain a better scan or an original digital statement where possible.

04 / How it works

A few useful answers.

Can I upload a photo directly?

The converter accepts PDF files. Put the scan into a PDF first, with the page upright and clearly readable. A native digital bank PDF is preferable when available.

Does OCR work perfectly on every scan?

No. Accuracy depends on image quality and layout. Faint text, skewed pages and complex tables can produce errors, so manual review remains essential.

Which banks are supported?

We support many bank statement layouts and can attempt unfamiliar formats. Results depend on the PDF quality and layout. Try a statement with the free allowance and review the output before relying on it.
