01 / Conversion API

A document in. A working file out.

Use the documented conversion endpoint from your own code. You control the upload, validation and destination of the result; StatementFlip handles the statement extraction and file generation.

Source → review → export

02 / Explore the example

A statement you can actually work with.

Explore the same example as a spreadsheet or CSV. The numbers are fictional; your own results depend on the source PDF and should be checked.

03 / Your workflow

A better starting point for your work.

01

Authenticate from your server

Create an API token in your account and keep it private. Send it as a Bearer token from your backend, never in public browser code.

02

Choose the output you need

Request xlsx or csv using the format parameter. For transaction-focused CSV output, use the documented minimal=true option.

03

Build for real processing time

Handle errors, usage limits and conversion timeouts in your application. Test representative PDFs and validate the returned data before relying on an automated workflow.

04 / How it works

From document to working data.

    Upload your PDF

Choose your original bank statement. Text PDFs and scanned PDFs are supported; results depend on the document.

  2. 2

    Review the transactions

Check dates, descriptions and amounts against the original. Correct the editable preview where needed.

  3. 3

    Download and get to work

Export Excel or CSV and use the reviewed data in your own workflow.

Conversion API

Before you use the export

  • Store API tokens in server-side secrets.
  • Check response status before saving the output file.
  • Plan for long-running requests and avoid blind retries.

A few useful answers.

Is there a direct integration with my accounting app?

The API is a building block for your own integration. It is not a built-in connector to any accounting platform, and field mapping remains your responsibility.

Where can I find working request examples?

The API documentation includes cURL, Python, Node.js and PHP examples, authentication details and output options. Test with a small statement and your account’s available page allowance.

Which banks are supported?

We support many bank statement layouts and can attempt unfamiliar formats. Results depend on the PDF quality and layout. Try a statement with the free allowance and review the output before relying on it.

Give your next statement a fresh start.

Try a small PDF first. Review the result. Then decide whether StatementFlip fits your work.
