01 / PDF to CSV

One simple format. Plenty of possibilities.

CSV keeps the handoff straightforward: rows and columns without a spreadsheet layout. Check the example, then adapt the reviewed export to the fields your destination software expects.

A statement you can actually work with.

Explore the same example as a spreadsheet or CSV. The numbers are fictional; your own results depend on the source PDF and should be checked.

03 / Your workflow

A better starting point for your work.

01

Inspect the columns first

Download the example to see the column structure. Match dates, descriptions and amounts to the import template in your target application.

02

Keep the transaction data portable

Open CSV in a spreadsheet, inspect it in a text editor or process it in your own script. Keep the original PDF as the source record.

03

Choose your import rules

Set the delimiter, encoding, date format and debit or credit mapping in the receiving tool. StatementFlip does not guarantee compatibility with every import template.

A few useful answers.

Can I import the CSV directly into my accounting tool?

That depends on its import requirements. Download the example and compare its columns with your tool’s template. You may need to rearrange or transform fields.

Can I get only transaction rows through the API?

Yes. The documented CSV API supports minimal=true for a transaction-focused export. See the API documentation for request parameters and authentication.

Which banks are supported?

We support many bank statement layouts and can attempt unfamiliar formats. Results depend on the PDF quality and layout. Try a statement with the free allowance and review the output before relying on it.
